Seriously?

So I guess NME.com decided to belatedly address how controversial the No Light, No Light video is and, in doing so, somehow found my post on it and highlighted LITERALLY THE LEAST RELEVANT FUCKING PART OF IT wherein I say I don’t believe Florence Welch herself is a racist. They include me in the general category of “fans who rushed to her defense” so if any of the new followers saw that and followed me for that reason, prepare for disappointment. I’m not defending her, wasn’t defending her, and won’t be defending her because, if not racist, releasing that video was stunningly ignorant. The usage of the particular imagery she used to get her point across was fucking lazy and my goodwill toward the woman lessens with each day that passes without a statement being released to attempt to explain that shit. I don’t for one second believe that it was an issue of “maybe the directors/recording company/Jesus Christ had more influence over the video and she didn’t want it to come out that way!” What. She has always had tremendous influence over her videos and for someone to launch that argument now, after she’s sold out shows in several countries and played SNL (twice) and fully crossed over into an American household name? You think she was helpless in producing that video?

And now I am going to try to figure who I need to go apeshit on/teach reading comprehension to at NME’s website to have the implication that I’m supporting her through this fixed.

About:

If I didn't care for fun and such,
I'd probably amount to much.
But I shall stay the way I am,
Because I do not give a damn.
